Vigilance Awareness Week Programme 2025 BY FCI,PATIALA

 As part of the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, officials from FCI Patiala visited Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, PLW Patiala and conducted an awareness programme for the students.

The session began with an inspiring speech by the FCI officials, highlighting the importance of honesty, integrity, and transparency in personal and professional life. Students were encouraged to adopt ethical values and stand against corruption in all forms.

To make the event more engaging, a quiz competition based on the theme of vigilance and moral values was conducted. Students participated enthusiastically and displayed great awareness.

At the end of the session, prizes were distributed to the winners of the quiz and active participants, motivating them to continue upholding the values of honesty and responsibility.

Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya is an innovative project launched by the Department of School Education and Literacy, under the Ministry of Education. It functions as a free digital library and serves as a national repository of knowledge and stories, tailored specifically for the young minds of India.

The objective of this digital platform is to cultivate a reading culture and to foster a sense of pride and curiosity in the youth about their heritage and accomplishments. It also aims to be a central resource of knowledge for the upcoming generations.

Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya offers a wide range of quality books that are accessible regardless of location, language, genre, or level, and can be accessed on various devices. The library is organized into four age-specific categories: 3-8, 8-11, 11-14, and 14+ years, featuring a diverse collection of non-academic books such as fiction, non-fiction, biographies, poetry, classics, comics, and novels. The selection emphasizes Indian history, culture, scientific progress, and other important aspects of the nation's identity.

The Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya application will be available for Web, Android and iOS users. It will include a array of genres like adventure, mystery, humour, literature, fiction, classics, non-fiction, self-help, history, biographies, comics, picture books, science, and poetry. The content is curated to promote cultural awareness, national pride, and empathy, in line with the concept of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' or 'The World is One Family'.

As a unique digital library, Rashtriya e-Pustakalya is dedicated to nurture a lifelong passion for reading in the children and adolescents of India. It provides access to over 3,000 non-academic titles from more than 45 esteemed publishers, available in over 22 languages, including English. The initiative supports the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by categorizing books for readers in the age groups of 3-8, 8-11, 11-14, and 14+ years, ensuring that quality literature is available to all, transcending barriers of geography, language, and accessibility.


 

हिन्दी पखवाड़ा के अंतर्गत पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी

हिन्दी पखवाड़ा के अवसर पर विद्यालय पुस्तकालय में एक पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन किया गया। इस प्रदर्शनी का उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों में हिन्दी भाषा और साहित्य के प्रति रुचि एवं सम्मान की भावना विकसित करना था।

प्रदर्शनी में प्रसिद्ध हिन्दी साहित्यकारों की रचनाएँ जैसे मुंशी प्रेमचंद, महादेवी वर्मा, सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान, हरिवंश राय बच्चन तथा रामधारी सिंह ‘दिनकर’ की पुस्तकों का प्रदर्शन किया गया। विद्यार्थियों एवं शिक्षकों ने उत्साहपूर्वक पुस्तकों का अवलोकन किया और हिन्दी साहित्य की समृद्ध परंपरा से परिचित हुए।

इस अवसर पर प्रधानाचार्या महोदया ने विद्यार्थियों को नियमित रूप से पुस्तकें पढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित किया तथा बताया कि पुस्तकें हमारे ज्ञान, विचार और व्यक्तित्व को समृद्ध बनाती हैं। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों से आग्रह किया कि वे पढ़ने की आदत को अपने दैनिक जीवन का हिस्सा बनाएं।

पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष ने भी विद्यार्थियों को पुस्तकालय का अधिकाधिक उपयोग करने और हिन्दी साहित्य को गहराई से पढ़ने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया।

Report on Book Review Competition (In Collaboration with CLA Department)

To promote reading habits and literary expression among students, a Book Review Competition was organized by the Library Department in collaboration with the CLA Department in September 2025. The main objective of this activity was to encourage students to read books critically and express their understanding creatively.

Students from various classes enthusiastically participated by presenting book reviews of their favourite titles. They shared summaries, key themes, character analysis, and personal reflections about the books they had read. The competition helped improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and public speaking skills.

Teachers evaluated the reviews on the basis of content, presentation, clarity, and originality. The best entries were appreciated and displayed on the Library Notice Board to motivate others.


Conclusion

The Book Review Competition, jointly organized by the Library and CCA Departments, proved to be an enriching experience for students. It not only enhanced their reading and analytical skills but also nurtured confidence and creativity through literary expression.
