National Library Week is celebrated from 14^th-20^th November every year at library K.V 2 DMW PATIALA .  various programmes are organized in connection with National Library Week. On this auspicious occasion some presentations related to the library will be organised.

The celebration of National Library Week is a way to promote the joy of reading among children by bringing their school libraries into the spotlight.

Ayyanki Venkata Ramanaiah, who is recognized as “The Architect of Public Library Movement in India”, states that the 1912 meeting in Madras led to the forming of the Indian Library Association. The ILA is said to have declared 14 November as the National Library Day since 1968. 14^th to 20^th November is being celebrated as the National Library Week all over India and various programs are held to enhance readers’ awareness about libraries.
